Two Policemen Gunned Down in Karachi Firing

Karachi (August 28, 2017): Two private security guards deployed outside a Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) office in Karachi were shot dead by unidentified assailants on Monday in a suspected attack of targeted killing, police said.


According to the initial details, two people were killed when unidentified attackers opened fire on them in the city’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.

Unknown armed men opened fire on policemen on duty outside FBR Office in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

Police officials said the deceased, a security guard and an official of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), were outside the FBR office in Jauhar’s Block 14 when they were fired at.

The policemen died on the spot.

Soon after the incident, police rushed to the site and cordoned of the area.

The bodies are being shifted to a local hospital.

Police official said that armed riders opened fire on the security guards and fled on a motorcycle.

The police have been a target of similar attacks in recent months, with a new group that calls itself Ansar-ul-Sharia Pakistan claiming responsibility for multiple shoot-and-run incidents in the city.

Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) A.D. Khowaja took notice of the incident and ordered a probe into it.
