Karachi:3 dead, 16 hurt in Landhi hand grenade attack

KARACHI: A hand grenade attack at Imambargah took palace in Majeed Colony area of Landhi, leaving Three  person dead and 16 more injured here on Thursday night, police said.

According to hospital sources, the injured were rushed to Jinnah hospital. Three wounded persons are said to be in critical condition.

Police have put the security cordon.


The explosion took place near Nawab Hotel, reported Msp,  correspondent, adding that according to reports around 16 people were injured.

 reported that the area which is near an imam bargah was an open ground at which unidentified attackers threw hand grenades and fled.

The injured have been shifted to Jinnah Hospital while rescue teams are on their way.

Four of the injured are being described to be in a critical condition.

Talking about the area,Nadeem Khan  that the Majeed Colony is heavily populated and police officials are facing difficulty in cordoning off the area as everyone has gathered on the site of the explosion.

Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident.

Condemning the attack, he said that security needed to be beefed up in Karachi.
