A blast near a passenger bus carrying Shia pilgrims from Iran to Pakistan left scores, including women and children, martyred and injured in Quetta on Wednesday evening.
Shiite News Correspondent gave its first report that the target of the terrorist act was a bus full of Shia pilgrims coming from Iran. The blast struck the bus at Akhtarabad bypass on Qamberani Road in the provincial capital of Baluchistan.
Reports had it that gunshots were also fired after blast. The bus caught fire after the explosion.
The TV footage shows the burnt bus with flames brightening the dark while sporadic firing can still be heard.
The rescue services and law enforcement agencies had arrived on the spot.
Shiites of Pakistan go to Iran for pilgrimage via Quetta and enter Iran through Taftan-Mir-Java border. The pilgrims pay respect and tribute and offer prayers and ziarat at the holy shrines of Imam Reza (AS), Hazrat Fatima Masoomah and other Imam Zadegan.
Shia parties and leaders have condemned the Yazidi nasbi takfiri terrorist attack on Shiites including women and children. They cited that Baluchistan witnessed worst sorts of anti-Shiites terrorism. They demanded targeted military operation to eliminate the terrorists and compensation and employment to the heirs of the martyr Shiites.
